Making a difference,
join the Wildlife Recording Group.

Surely there can be no better way of making new friends, keeping fit and helping to make the difference.

Please contact MOSWRG now to find out how you could become involved in this exciting and challenging community project.

The group needs members with a wide range of skills, so even if you are not as agile as you once were, there are still plenty of things you could do to help.

MOSWRG Members are from all walks of life and age groups, currently ranging from nine to eighty nine.

The Milford on Sea Wildlife Recording Group work closely and in partnership with the Milford Environment Group (MEG), the Hampshire Conservation Volunteers and New Forest Conservation Volunteers.

MOSWRG are affiliated to the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV), undertaking practical conservation work at weekends in some of the most important habitats in the area. These include the Pleasure Grounds, woodlands, Sturt Pond, Studland Common and other public open spaces.

PARTNERSHIP OBJECTIVES

Education
: helping to create the opportunity for youngsters to participate in practical local management of our wildlife and to find the next generation of 'young conservationists'.

Keeping Fit: encouraging a practical means of gentle exercise and thereby helping volunteers to keep fit whilst working at their own pace.

Environment and Biodiversity: helping to reduce environmental damage, protecting and enhancing local biodiversity.

The term biodiversity describes the variety of life on Earth, from micro-organisms to mighty whales, along with the habitats they depend upon.

Discover why the world's biodiversity is under threat and what will happen to us as biodiversity decreases.

Also, find out about the problems that come with trying to measure it, and how the Natural History Museum's work is helping in the study and conservation of biodiversity.
